It's because the site considered people as merely themselves, but failed to see what would happen in 2012, and correct for that.
Thus, people who had Director's Accounts before 2006, when Youtube was bought out, would have the ability to single out those to ban, while peeps who a) had Director's Accounts AFTER 2006 and b) held them for quite some time would yet see it coming out "right" again. This, however, was technically based off of the current username, so it seemed the USA would be "phased out" forever. AT FIRST!
But, understand that your book is more than just your body. 2006 is just a number. A "western" number. But, you will yet see your own "Eastern" number as well. I promise.
